Double-Wall Fiberglass Tank
Double-wall fuel tanks are available in capacities ranging from 600 gallons to 40,000 gallons.
Xerxes corrosion resistant tanks are increasingly being specified for a variety of oil and gas industry applications. As the North American pipeline infrastructure and related facilities continues to expand, owners and their design engineering firms are using Xerxes storage tanks for the collection of liquids that come from routine maintenance practices or as emergency spill collection. A Xerxes sump tank is the ideal choice for these corrosive environments. Xerxes pipeline sump tanks offer the following advantages:
Rib Design – with the Xerxes design, the ribs are fabricated directly into the tank cylinder.
Parabeam Constuction – Parabeam enhances the overall structural integrity by creating a bond between the primary and secondary cylinder walls, while providing a free-flowing interstitial space for monitoring capabilities.
UL-Listed – Xerxes double-wall fiberglass tanks are subjected to third-party material testing, proof-testing and product compatibility testing based on UL1316 and UL2215. This listing has been the North American industry standard for underground petroleum tanks for decades.
TRUCHEK® Continuous Monitoring – When you order a Xerxes double-wall tank with the TRUCHEK option, the interstice between the two tank walls is factory-filled with calcium-chloride fluid that also partially fills a tank-top reservoir. This innovative design creates a hydrostatic pressure throughout the interstice, thereby monitoring both tank walls on a continuous basis. An electronic probe placed in the tank’s reservoir alarms when the fluid level falls below or rises above the acceptable level. The alarm system is compatible with SCADA communications systems for 24/7 monitor reporting. TRUCHEK also provides a precise and reliable method to perform a tank-tightness test that meets the strict NFPA 329 criteria.
